I agree, unless you think there is serious reward for doing an unpaid internship (especially with the group your interning with), in the long run there are too many what-ifs and not enough guarantees to work for free.

Hey Evan,
Prague is perfect for a weekend trip. My suggestion would be to arrive on a Friday so you can piddle around the city a bit and then go check out some of the great night life that evening. Prague is surprisingly famous for their Jazz clubs that they have all over the city, any one of them would be a great place to start. On Saturday, if you can wake up early enough, you should watch the sun rise from Petrin Hill. In the spring (which is probably the best time to go) the cherry blossoms are in bloom (like the picture above) and would be a perfect setting to get a great view of the City. Grab some breakfast at a place called 'Bohemian Bagel' and you can spend the rest of the day riding the trams around to some of the famous sites (Wenceslas Square, Vysehrad, Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Lennon Wall, Fred and Ginger Building, ect...) which are all within 3-4miles of each other. Then before you leave on Sunday, you should take a train about forty minutes outside the city to visit this crazy church in Kutna Hora. The church that is there is made completely of Human Bones.... very eerie. Very small town, takes as long to get out there as your visit to the church will be.

As for the other cities, turned out that it was 24. I put stars by the ones that were my favorite.

Hey,

Saw your photos of Prague and took a read. I'll be studying abroad in Florence in Jan-May 2012. Prague is one of our "must-visit" cities. I was curious about the 22 other cities you visited. Also, is Prague definitely a city you want to devote an entire weekend to? Thanks

I did an unpaid radio internship for 6 months when I was a broadcast media major. I had to be up at 4:30am three days a week and worked until 10:30am. I know I did a great job, everyone liked me, etc, but I never heard back from anyone about a paid position and never received any kind of recommendation for the work. More than likely this was due to the fact the program I worked with was cancelled a few months after my internship ended and my supervisors were laid off.

I think it is only worth it if there is a high probability you will be able to use the internship to get a job with the company once the internship ends.
